This could, of course, be a very long article. When your team goes 67-95 and is outscored by over 100 runs on the season, there isn't going to be too much to celebrate. Having said that, let's take a look at some of the worst performers on the season, and whether there is any hope for a rebound for them in the future.
First baseman Pedro MArtinez was quite good in 2046, posting a wRC+ of 118 and 3.1 WAR. This year all of his stats plummeted, and his wRC+ was only .76 and he mustered only .1 WAR. This was only Martinez's second full season in the majors, and he's had one good season and one awful one. It's unclear who the real Pedro Martinez is, but Seattle needs to try to figure that out quickly, as someone with an OPS below .700 simply can't be an everyday first baseman.
After a breakout third season in which he had a wRC+ of 150, Abakade Angosisye appeared poised to become a star who continued to destroy right-handed pitching. The 2047 season was a disaster, as he was far worst by every conceivable metric, and his OPS dropped nearly 270 points. He was so bad that he posted a WAR of -1.2. Seattle fans and staff were confounded by his struggles this season; it appears likely that he will be back as the DH against righties next season, but any thoughts of a long-term extension have been put on hold.
On the mount, Yasir Bin Lufti had an equally disappointing season. After he posted 4.5 WAR and a 3.44 ERA last season, his ERA was nearly two runs higher this season. The causes weren't particularly hard to discern: bin Lufti walked more hitters than he ever had, and he also gave up far more home runs. Seattle fans have to hope that this isn't also the sign of a trend, as bin Lufti will be a free agent after the 2048 season, and Seattle will need to decide if they can commit to him long-term.
