As we've mentioned before, Seattle is off to a terrific start to the 2046 season, and it appears that most pieces of the team are performing quite well. Traditionally, when Seattle has had success, it has been led by its starting pitching, and heading into this season, Seattle fans were hoping for more of the same. So far, Seattle's pitchers have largely lived up to those expectations, as their 4.08 ERA is good for 4th in the Frick League. Let's take a look at Seattle's best and worst pitching performances.

TOP PERFORMANCES: Perhaps unsurprisingly, Seattle's top two starting pitchers have been excellent. Hector Marquez and Yasir bin Lufti have both been excellent and have been largely responsible for the staff's success. Marquez leads all starters with a 2.95 ERA, and his 3.61 FIP indicates that his success is not a fluke. Marquez also leads Seattle pitchers with 96 strikeouts, and he has produced 2.6 WAR so far. While Marquez has a longer track record of success, bin Lufti has likely been the better pitcher this season. Although his 3.36 ERA is higher than Marquez's, his 3.39 FIP is better, as his 3.2 WAR. So far bin Lufti's had tremendous success at keeping the ball in the yard, and after giving up 23 home runs last season in 163 innings, he's only allowed 8 so far this season in 112 innings. On that note, Marquez has also been very good at limiting home runs, as he gave up a staggering 39 last season in just under 200 innings, but has only allowed 12 so far this season.

WORST PERFORMANCES: To the extent that Seattle has any major flaws so far this season, the biggest issue has been its bullpen, and Bartolo Olvera and Francisco Concepcion have been two of the biggest culprits. They have ERAs of 6.12 and 5.91, respectively, and while their FIPs indicate that they've run into some bad luck, Seattle will need to see better performances soon, and the rumor mill has already started churning, as there are whispers that Seattle will look to upgrade its bullpen.

It brings me great joy to see Concepcion pitching terribly for you.

I suppose that's fair
