April is nearing its end, and, after two straight disastrous seasons, things appear to finally be looking up for the Storm. As things currently stand, the Storm are 16-9, and all appears right in the world. Much was made in the offseason of Seattle's newfound commitment to defense, and thus far those results appear to be paying off. We're going to take a look at some of Seattle's best and worst performers to analyze how Seattle got here, and what might come next.

TOP PERFORMERS: Seattle's top hitter has been, by far, Alexander Julyan, who appears determined to show that last year's success was no fluke. So far, so good, as Julyan has a .980 OPS and leads the team with 1.4 WAR. The team's top free-agent signing Pedro Diaz has also been everything Seattle could have hoped for, as he has an OPS of .822 while playing excellent defense at shortstop. On the mound, Seattle's top performer has been Yasir Bin Lufti, who has clearly benefited from Seattle's improved defense, as opponents' BABIP has fallen 40 points from last season, which is a major part of his 2.67 ERA so far this season.

WORST PERFORMERS: It's no fun to look at negative performances when the team is doing well, but thus far Eric Jones has been struggling at the plate, with an OPS of .608. On the bright side, however, Jones has been more than holding his own defensively at his new position of second base, so Seattle fans just need to assume that he will bounce back. On the mound, Luther Summers has been struggling, as his 7.94 ERA would indicate. However, while Seattle's improved defense has helped most of the team's pitchers, it doesn't appear to have helped Summers yet, as opponents' .405 BABIP against him would indicate. Summers' FIP of 4.12 seems to indicate that a round should be in store soon.
