Chasing The Storm 2040-1: Sims 1-2 Review

Post by njherdfan » Thu Oct 03, 2019 10:51 am

Through 11 games, you could forgive Seattle fans for feeling a bit confused. Their beloved Storm have a record of 6-5, which is nothing special. However, the Storm also have a run differential of +36, which is good for second in the Frick. Ultimately, it remains to be seen if Seattle will be able to start posting a record more in line with its run differential, but it will be exciting to find out. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of Seattle's best and worst performers through the season's first 11 games.

TOP PERFORMERS: At the plate, Todd Rice has not missed a beat from his fantastic 2039 season. After 11 games, he has an OPS of 1.006, and has only struck out twice in 51 plate appearances. Seattle fans are thrilled with what he's provided, but they almost expected this production. More unexpected is the performance of Sean Maguire. After a relatively disappointing first season in Seattle, Maguire has been on a tear with an OPS of 1.412 and 5 home runs. While it's unlikely that Maguire has transformed into one of the best hitters in league history, Seattle fans are still thrilled with his production. On the mound, Hector Marquezz has continued his fantastic work. In 3 starts, he's pitched 21 innings, has a 22/5 K/BB ratio and an ERA of 3. Seattle fans are thrilled with how he's performed thus far.

WORST PERFORMERS: As indicated by the +36 run differential, Seattle's offense has been quite good, so there isn't too much to complain about. However, both John Hickman and Lionnel Crepin have gotten off to rather slow starts, and have OPSs of .721 and .734, respectively. Seattle fans don't seem too worried, though, and expect a turnaround soon. On the mound, there has been one clear problem. Newly signed Paul Farrell, who was expected to be the team's closer, has struggled mightily to start the season. So far he has made 3 appearances, and is sporting an ERA of 18, and he has lost 2 of the games that he's appeared in. There are whispers that Seattle's front office might consider making a change at some point soon, but that remains to be seen.
