It's well known that desperate times call for desperate measures. Accordingly, Seattle has finally decided to act with some desperation as it's been watching its season slowly spiral out of control. Today, Seattle announced that top propspect Todd Rice will be called up to the majors for the next sim.
Rice was Seattle's top draft pick last season, and he has quickly developed into the team's top hitting prospect. Rice recently turned 20 years old, and so far this season, he has been simply dominant at AAA with an OPS of .968. Perhaps most impressive, in 189 at-bats, Rice has only struck out 8 times. Rice also brings above-average speed and excellent defense in center field, and fans in Seattle can't wait to watch him play.
While there are some in Seattle who worry that Rice is being promoted too quickly, most observeres agree that there is simply nothing left for Rice to prove in the minors. After all, if he can have an OPS of .968 in AAA, why not bring him to the majors and see what he can do, particularly when you account for how much Seattle's offense has struggled of late. One thing is for sure: Seattle's struggles had put the enthusiasm of the Storm's fans at risk, but there is no worry about that now, as all Storm fans will be tuning in to watch Rice's debut.

Rice looks like a pure stud. The fans certainly have something to be excited about.
