Now that Seattle's season has concluded, it's time to continue looking at some of the best players to wear the Seattle uniform this past season. While we previously looked at the rookie of the year, it's time to look at this team's MVP. In full disclosure, this really means the team's offensive MVP, because you don't want to have the MVP and Best Pitcher be the same person. Or so I'm told.
While Seattle had a number of excellent performances from players such as Jose Cortes and John Hickman, there can ultimately be no question that this year's top offensive player was everyone's favorite Frenchman, Lionnel Crepin.
This season was arguably Crepin's finest as a hitter, and he led the Frick League with a .413 OPS, and he finished 10th in the league, while leading the Storm, with a .927 OPS. Crepin also mashed 34 home runs to lead the team, and he also posted the impressive feat of walking more than he struck out, with 114 walks against only 97 strikeouts. While some people can ding Creppin for his fielding, which was below average in right field, Creppin's durability and offensive prowess make him the clear choice as the team's (offensive) MVP.
