As we've talked about before, this season did not go as planned for the Seattle Storm. Despite that disappointment, however, there had to be some positives to come out of this season, right? Well, let's take a look and see if any of the Storm's players actually exceeded expectations.
Hector Marquez: Seattle's top pitching prospect finally made his long-awaited debut in the majors, and while he didn't dominate the competition, he more than held his own. In 13 starts, Marquez was the only Seattle starter to have an ERA under 4, and his underlying numbers were equally strong, as his FIP was 3.18. Seattle fans have to be thrilled with what they've seen from Marquez thus far, and they're looking forward to what comes next.
Lloyd Braun: Braun was second on the team with 3.9 WAR as he played an excellent second base all season long. Of course, Seattle fans will always consider Braun against the player he was traded for, Quant Kouros, who has matured into an incredible player in his own right, but Seattle fans can't complain about the production they've received from Braun throughout his tenure in Seattle.
John Hickman: Perhaps Hickman doesn't belong on this list since everyone just expects him to be good at this point, but Hickman was clearly Seattle's best player as he put up a .917 OPS and 4.8 WAR. If Seattle is going to contend again next year, Hickman will play a key role.

Braun seemed like he was trending downward five years ago when he was traded to Las Vegas. It's surprising to see that was really kind of not the case. He's still a great player.
