Chasing The Storm 2037-1 Sim 2 Review

Through ten games, the Seattle Storm's start could best be described as underwhelming. Seattle currently sits at 3-7, with a negative run differential. In their most recent sim, Seattle went 2-3. Let's take a look at that performance, and who Seattle's best and worst performers were.

TOP PERFORMERS: This is a pretty easy choice. In the 2 games that he started, Juan Escobar hit 3 home runs, and produced a 2.267 OPS. While most fans thought that the normal aging curve would lead to less productivity for the longtime franchise stalwart, Escobar has been defying those expectations so far. Julio Alicea also had an excellent start, as he went 7 innings and did not allow an earned run

WORST PERFORMERS: Unfortunately, when a team performs like the Storm have, this is going to be a longer list. At the plate, the biggest disappointment hs been Lionnel Crepin. In 5 games, he produced a .438 OPS. In the young season, he currently is sporting a .318 OPS. While Seattle fans are confident that he will snap out of this skid soon, it's worth noting that the early games also count, and his lack of production has been hurting the team so far. On the mound, Alfredo Contreras gave up an astounding 15 hits and 7 earned runs in his lone start. On the season, he is 0-2 with a 9.28 ERA. Not great! However, Seattle fans should feel a little better knowing that he has a FIP of 3.24 and is allowing a BABIP over .500. That should start to level out soon.

Crepin and Contreras are having absolutely terrible BABIP luck so far. Did Seattle forget to make their offseason sacrifice to the BABIP gods?
