Heading into the 2035 trade deadline, Seattle's fans were wondering what, if anything, the Storm would do in anticipation of a playoff push. Seattle fans got their answer: nothing. Actually, that's not quite accurate, because Seattle made a significant trade earlier this season. Seattle acquired shortstop Lloyd Braun from Las Vegas, in the hopes that he could fill Seattle's biggest void, of a good defensive shorstop who oculd also provide offensive value.

Braun wasn't cheap for Seattle to acquire, as the Storm had to give up highly-touted second baseman Quant Kouros. As Seattle GM Nathan Eagan explained, "we think very highly of Quant, and we think he would have been a valuable pice of the Storm's infield in the future. But there were some questions about his defense, and we felt that the opportunity to get Braun was too good to pass up." Only time will tell if Eagan is correct, because Kouros has already been promoted to majors, where he currently has a .715 OPS with the Storm.

Seattle fans hope that Braun's solid defense will help propel the team to winning the division, and to playoff success. Braun is under contract for the next 3 years, so Seattle fans will be seeing a lot of him in the near future, and they will likely be comparing him to Kouros for the foreseeable future.

Braun was probably a good acquisition for where you were at. I think a lot of "deadline deals" happened in the weeks prior to the actual deadline.
