Chasing The Storm 2033-7 A Trade, and a Promotion

Throughout the 2033 season, it would be fair to say that Owen Stark had not performed in the way Seattle had been hoping; as a result, Seattle had received almost no production from its third basemen. Sensing a potential opportunity, Seattle GM Nathan Eagan decided to make a change. Seattle acquired third baseman Jesus Gonzalez from Vancouver. Gonzalez, who is a free agent at the end of the season, is in the midst of a terrific campaign, and Seattle fans hope that he can continue producing at a high level. It’s not clear if Seattle will attempt to re-sign Gonzalez after the season, or if Gonzalez would have any interest in staying.

In return for Gonzalez, Seattle gave up promising pitching prospect Manuel Soliz, along with major league starter Luiz Espinoza. As a consequence of that trade, Seattle now has an open rotation spot, and it appears that the spot will be filled by the prospect that Seattle fans have been clamoring to see: Ken Walter. Since being drafted in 2031, Walter has performed quite well at every minor league level. Now, at age 20, Seattle fans will see if he is ready to shine on the game’s biggest stage. Scouts report that Walter throws hard, and can command three pitches. Additionally, he is quite good at keeping the ball in the ballpark and letting his fielders do the work for him. Seattle GM Nathan Eagan confirms that Walter will immediately be slotted into the major league rotation.
