LONG BEACH WINS RECORD IN SIGHT

September 5, 2057
Long Beach, CA

With 91 wins on September 5th, the Long Beach Surfers have their eyes on the franchise record for wins in the BBA's modern ERA (1995-present) and the most wins for a team in Long Beach. Their current .659 pace puts them on track to win 107 games, easily besting the modern Long Beach mark of 101 wins, in the 2006 season.

The All-Time franchise record was set in the inaugural 1973 season when the team was the Salt Lake City Missions. That team won 108 games, and kicked off an infamous run of futility after being knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.

The team did not make an appearance in a Brewster Championship Series until the 2029 season, which they won under the management of the current front office. GM Stephen Lane has built 11 playoff teams in the years since, but has not won another championship. Over that time, the most wins in a season has been 100, reached in 2031 and 2044.

A .500 record in the final 24 games of the season would secure the modern wins record for the club, and if they continue on their current hot streak (24-8 since August 1) we could be witnessing the greatest team (by record) in franchise history.

Cool it. Nashville lost five in a row and I don’t wanna lose home field.

102 with four to play, I'll take it. would have been nice to beat the 1973 team, but I'm happy wherever we end up for the regular season total.
