The Long Beach Surfers front office has confirmed reports that they have signed right-handed starting pitcher Mike MacRobb to a 1-year deal. The 38-year-old has worked as a swingman throughout his BBA career that started in 2044 with the Louisville Sluggers. Last season he started 22 games for Portland, with a 4.19 ERA (100 ERA+) and we anticipate that he will immediately take a spot in the Long Beach rotation. With injuries to Joe MacLeod and Travis Wilson, the rotation depth has been tested early in the season.
GM Stephen Lane released the following statement:

We are proud to announce the signing of Mike MacRobb on a one year deal. He's a hard worker and is respected by teammates and admired by fans across the BBA.
Additionally, with this signing, the Surfers now lead the BBA in payroll for the 2056 season. I'd like to thank O'Shea Jackson for his continued commitment to building a winning team in Long Beach, and we are excited to continue our pursuit of a FL Pacific title.

Long Beach is 33-24 (.579) and is tied with Vancouver for second place in the FLP, trailing the Mad Popes by four games. The early season Wild-Card picture is crowded, with eight teams within six games of the final spot.
