KERFOOT ALL STAR, REYES RECALLED

Keith Kerfoot was the Surfers' lone representative in the 2055 BBA All-Star Game. Kerfoot, in his second season with Long Beach, is hitting .301/.356/.520 with 21 home runs. His 131 OPS+ is a career high, and his 2.2 WAR is just 0.1 off of his career best of 2.3 in 2052 with Mexico City. The just turned 30 year old righty is turning out to be a good signing for the club both on the field and off.

In prospect news, 2054 draftee Emilio Reyes is returning to the big league club for the final game of the series against Des Moines. The 21 year old center fielder and all around defensive wiz has performed exceptionally at AAA Commerce, posting a .310/.371/.435 line, and though Arthur Daniel has improved over his disappointing 2054, he's still a borderline player at this point in his career. The front office surely hopes that Reyes will be a true BBA player and not just the quad-A player that he's been to this point.

Farm Update
The "Big Three" (Rhys Atticus, Austin Nolan, Terry Cole) are all playing for the Yard Goats in Commerce this season. Cole, following a one week cup of coffee with the Surfers to start the season, is hitting .301/.355/.487. Nolan, for his part is hitting .298/.405/.378 and while his contact is improving, his in-game power has not progressed as quickly as the organization had hoped. Finally, 20 year old defensive phenom Atticus is doing well behind the plate but has yet to catch up to AAA pitching. The front office is confident that his bat will catch up, and even if it doesn't his primary contribution to the Surfers will undoubtedly be his management of the pitching staff.
