WILLIS, IN PEN, IS GOOD
Surfers Season In Review Series, #4 of However Many I Feel Like Writing
After six years of starts, many headaches, and countless twitter complaints, Del Willis was moved to the bullpen full-time. He never really mastered his curveball, so the move allowed him to lean more on his best two pitches, the fastball and splitter.
The team was rewarded with 100 innings of 3.06 ERA pitching, good for his second best season by WAR at 1.2.
Along with Angel Hernandez and Luis Manuel Rodriguez, Willis was a significant contributor to the Surfers' 3.27 bullpen ERA, which was good for 6th in the Frick League.
