GONZALES TO MANAGE ROOKIE LEAGUE CAYUCOS
December 1, 2043
Long Beach, CA
The Long Beach Surfers are excited to announce the newest member of the minor league coaching staff, Carlos Gonzales. The 39-year-old slugging outfielder retired at the end of the 2043 season, after a very successful 16 year BBA career. 'CarGo,' as he was known in the clubhouse, spent 13 of those seasons wearing a Surfers uniform.
He finished his career with 511 HR, 1304 Runs, and 1440 RBI, winning four Charles Puckett Golden Bat Awards for RF, and winning the 2031 Sawyer Silk Silver Slugger Trophy. He was named to five All-Star teams, and was an important part of the 2029 Landis Championship winning team.
From his first weeks with the Tucson Cactus in 2028, it was evident that he possessed superior leadership skills. He was the captain of the clubhouse and lead the team through the highs and the lows.
He will be assigned to Rookie League Cayucos, and will be tasked with leading the next generation of Surfers players. We are very happy that CarGo has decided to remain a part of the Long Beach organization, and we wish him the best of luck.
