NO TRADES AT DEADLINE, BUT CONFIDENCE IS HIGH

The BBA trade deadline has come and gone without any major deals being done in Long Beach. Despite obvious areas of need, the front office decided to roll through the deadline without adding the impact bat that they desperately needed.

GM Stephen Lane elaborated during a press conference: "We feel confident with the team as it is. We believe that the guys we have are enough to take us deep into the playoffs, and there's a couple guys in the minors right now that will make an impact after rosters expand. Of course we'd love to have added a big bat like you're all saying we need, but we just didn't find the right deal this year. It's not like there's an Alfredo Salazar on the market every year."

Improvements from underperforming players such as Feliciano Rafael would make an impact just as great as adding a top tier slugger. If Rafael returns to form, he alongside Danya Tchekanov would make a formidable top two in any playoff series.

Sources inside the organization have hinted that a significant addition will be outfielder Pedro Avila, a 22 year old Cuban. He was drafted in the second round of the 2037 draft and has risen rapidly through the minor leagues after spending two seasons in rookie ball. He skipped AA completely and had an .893 OPS in 117 games at AAA Commerce. He bats and throws lefty, and brings ratings of 6/7/8/8/6 to the plate against RHP.
