The Gnarly Rager : 95.3 - Dibble Extends Scoreless Streak

There's nothing like having a solid closer to help make a manager feel good. "It makes me feel pretty secure going into the late innings when I give him the ball" said Bugaloo Polinksi. "Knowing that the game is virtually over, makes a manager's job real easy."
That is how the Long Beach Surfers have felt in the recent weeks when the club turns the game over to their closer Rob Dibble. Since taking over as the team's closer 2 weeks into the season, Dibble has been unhittable. And I'm not exaggerating. On the year thus far, Dibble is 4-1 with 17 saves and a 1.15 ERA in 31.1 innings pitched. As impressive as those numbers are, it is nothing when you look at his recent streak of success. From April 26 to today, June 15, here are Dibble's stats:
22 Games Appeared
22.1 Innings Pitched
0 Runs
5 Hits
5 Walks
25 strikeouts
In that time frame, the Surfers have played 46 games, accumulating a record of 30-16. Dibble has posted a 0.00 ERA and a 0.54 WHIP. He has gone 2-0 in that stretch, recording all 17 of his saves. The only regret Polinksi may have is having Dibble as the setup man in the initial sim, when Dibble was a human 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA.
"I like being in at the end of the game" said Dibble. "I think I have the mindset for the 9th inning. I get myself fired up in the pen and come in and throw gas as these guys. When I'm on, like I am right now, no one can touch me!"
