WHIV 2006 Vol. 2- Acheson wins Nebraska Award
The Las Vegas Hustlers are proud to announce that Davey Acheson has won the 2005 Frick League Steve Nebraska Award for pitching excellence.
Acheson, 28 years old, wins the award for the first time in his career. He was 21-6, 2.52 ERA, 68 walks, 213 K in 236 innings. He had a 1.18 WHIP, 70.3 VORP, and a 6.5 WAR.
Statistically, this is actually the second best season of Acheson's career (2001, his first full season was arguably better) but he is now established and well known as a big time hurler.
Acheson won the most first place votes (17) of any player in any category of voting, both leagues.
Congrats!
