A Wrong Is Righted As Rudge Returns: Say that ten times fast.
That's right, the Hustlers have righted a major wrong by bringing back veteran fan favorite and future Hall of Famer Tom Rudge for the rest of the 2060 season. He signed with Yellow Springs in the offseason and was horrible there (.161/.201/.285/.486, -1.1 WAR), ultimately being released by the Nine.
Las Vegas decided that they could indeed spend a roster spot on their franchise hero after trading away Helmut Grun and quickly agreed to terms with Rudge.
"When you think of the Las Vegas Hustlers, you think of Tom Rudge," said manager Henry Rectenberg. "He'll be a pinch-runner, pinch-hitter type, basically another coach for us. His coaching career is getting a bit of a jumpstart, you could say."
Rudge was thrilled to be back. "I should have never left, I know it," Rudge admitted. "I never wanted to sully my reputation, but I couldn't believe it when Matt (Rectenwald) told me that it was really time for me to retire. I thought I could still play. Obviously, he was right and I was wrong. I really appreciate the opportunity to end up where I began."
