Kamatari Kino came into the 2060 season expecting to at least be a platoon player for the Las Vegas Hustlers. It did indeed start out that way, but after two months in the bigs producing okay but not outstanding numbers, the Hustlers sent Kino back to Milwaukee (AAA) to play every day.

What happened next is the stuff of legends (as is his mustache, pictured above).

Kino reported to Milwaukee and set his mind to playing the best baseball that he could. He told himself that he would force the Hustlers to bring him back with his play on the field. Just over two months of that kind of effort produced ungodly numbers that did, indeed, force the Hustlers to bring him back.

"Did I expect to play THIS well...haha, no," chuckled Kino. "I know I can play and I know I'm a BBA talent. The last two months have been the most fun I've ever had playing baseball, and I hope it carries over to the bigs this time."

Las Vegas has had a bit of a revolving door in left field, and now they are planning on giving Kino a full look. "I expect him to play nearly every day for at least the month of August," said hitting coach Tony Banuelos. "We need to know exactly what kind of a player we have in Kino, and we're about to find out."

I still think he’s a fourth outfielder but would like to see him get regular chances.
