WHIV 2005 Vol. 4- Eoff solidifies infield depth

The Hustlers will entered the 2005 season with five infielders who feel they should be starters, and one emerging youngster. Their solution? Sign another infielder who feels he should be a starter.



Jack McKeon Eoff signed a 3 year deal with Las Vegas. The Hustlers feel he'll be a utility infielder. Eoff has other ideas.

"I'm not here to be someone's caddy," Eoff quipped. "I'm going to try to win a job. And the way I see it, there's one open."

"That's true, actually," manager Elroy Futon explained. "We're set at the corners, with John Catron and Jake Urban. Clearly, Donald Noboru is going to start every day, whether it is at second base or shortstop. So, we have three guys competing for playing time at one spot. Jack will get a chance to mix it up with Phillipe LaRouche and the young Francisco Cruz for that last spot. Honestly, I expect them to all share time throughout the season."

"Good enough for me," Eoff smiled. "I just want a chance to play. I won a ring with the Wolves last year, and now I want to bring the trophy back to Vegas."

I tried to go after Eoff again. I couldn't keep him at the end of the year due to Bolt's contract. But once he was gone, I tried to re-sign him. You must have barely beat me out on him. I was hoping to have him and Jaiden France be super utility guys. Those two can play nearly every position.
