Executed the contract year option of RF Tom Rudge.
Executed the contract year option of SS Stewart Turton.
Voided the team option year(s) of 1B Aarnoud Budding for a buyout of $2,600,000.
Voided the team option year(s) of SP Edgar Sosa for a buyout of $1,100,000.

Unlike last season, keeping Rudge around was more of a no-brainer. "We weren't straining for cap space," said GM Matt Rectenwald. The same applies to Turton. "We'd have to be out of our minds to let Stewart away," laughed Rectenwald.

Budding was always going to be a one and done. Sosa, however, was a bit of a surprise after winning 14 games from the Hustlers' rotation in 2058. "We wanted some more flexibility," explained Rectenwald. "It's not out of the question Edgar could return, but we feel pretty good about the rotation depth and would like to take a shot at a big fish or two."

Big fish? In a year where starting pitching is extremely thin? Stay tuned.
