In a year where Frick League teams below .500 were battling for a Wild Card slot, the Las Vegas Hustlers and their 90 wins were unable to secure a playoff spot.

Losing Game 163 to Charlotte sealed their fate. Manager Henry Rectenberg was unable to justify his use of relief pitchers Adrian Custello and Ray Keller after pulling starter Bret Harrell after just four innings and 59 pitches. "I have no idea what my line of thinking was, and I won't sit here and justify it," said a clearly dejected Rectenberg. "This loss is on me."

For what it's worth, Harrell was more forgiving. "It's not Henry's fault we were 10-14 in September," said Harrell. "This is a team failure. We all understand that Henry's trying to take on the heat and we truly appreciate it, but it's not on him."

GM Matt Rectenwald had more to say. "We had the third best run differential in the entire BBA, that's third out of thirty-two teams. We were minus six to expected wins. We were a better team than this, it just wasn't our year. The luck never went our way."

Now the focus is turned towards 2059. "There's a lot of decisions to make," said Rectenwald. "We have more Team Options than I remember having in a long time. We are going to have to re-tool this club again, just like we do every year. We'll find a way to win, just like we do every year."
