WHIV 2058.15- Hustlers Add To Bullpen With Veteran Cordero

Las Vegas continues to increase the average age of their players. This time it's 37 year old reliever Gilberto Cordero from the Calgary Pioneers in return for returning the rights to Rule 5 draft pick Marshall Taylor to Calgary.

Cordero was a free agent target for many going into the 2056-57 offseason, and Calgary ultimately signed him to a three year deal. After three good seasons as Madison's closer, Cordero was expected to provide Calgary with solid set-up outings. Twelve homers allowed in 71.1 innings kind of ruined his season. Calgary GM Kevin Dickson was quoted as saying "We have a bad taste in our mouth when it comes to Cordero."

Despite his subpar 2057 campaign, the Hustlers are still high on the veteran. "He's still the same pitcher," said manager Henry Rectenberg. "Relievers can be volatile. We think he can help us this year."
