Signed free agent LF Kidane Ata to a 2-year contract worth a total of $16,000,000.

Kidane Ata may be turning 40 in February, but he didn't play his age in 2056. "He was actually our only All-Star," stated Rectenwald.
Ata is no longer the Ata he was in his prime, for sure. He moved from center field to left field before the 2055 season, no longer a premier center fielder, and did so with aplomb (he won the Zimmer Award for JL Left Fielders in 2055 and 2056). He's not a .280 hitter anymore. He's not going to give anyone 7.4 WAR as he once did in his prime. That being said, he's a steady player who the Hustlers will try to get one more season or productivity from. "At the end of the day, the clubhouse is happy that he's still here, the fans are happy he's still here, and most importantly Kidane is happy to be here," said Rectenwald.

I hope he stays productive. But I fear otherwise.
Of course, I could be saying that just to jinx myself and make sure he gets a couple WAR.

The second year is a vesting option that he is extremely unlikely to hit.
