December 1, 2056

The Las Vegas Hustlers today filled the three open coaching slots in their minor league system by tabbing three former Hustlers to fill the roles.

Gerald "Rumor Mill" Abbott, 37 years old, was named the new Pitching Coach for the Kingston Legends of the Drake League (Short A). Abbott pitched for Las Vegas from 2042-2049, In 2045, he began writing a diary that was to become a book, but he was talked out of it by upper management. He had a September to Remember in 2048. "I'm pumped to be back with this great organization, and I'm ready to start my new journey as a coach," said Abbott. "Maybe I'll make a bigger impact in this role than I actually did on the field!"

Eugenio Asseldonk, 35 years old, was named the new Pitching Coach for the Roswell Aliens of the Nolan League (Rookie). Asseldonk is a ten-year veteran of the BBA as a lefty pitcher. He joined the Hustlers in 2047, just in time to win three Monty Brewster Championship Series rings. 2050 was his best season as a pro, going 20-4 (his next highest single season win total was 11, and no other season in double digits). After winning their third title, Asseldonk and Tom Rudge got in a little trouble at the White House. "Now that I got that treason charge cleared up," Asseldonk said with a chuckle, "I'm ready to help out these kids. Maybe someday they'll get detained by the Secret Service!"

Phil Logan, 37 years old, will join Asseldonk with Roswell as their new Hitting Coach. Logan was never a star, never even really a starter after his first two seasons. "Sometimes the role players make the best coaches," said Logan. "We see everything in the game from the bench!" Logan was heralded as a real "Captain" type during his playing career and the Hustlers have high hopes for him as a coach. "It's funny, I was always trying to live up to Edward Allen during my playing career, and now I'm trying to do the same as a coach," explained Logan.

Asseldonk almost had to be a coach, now, didn't he?
