Left Field: Benjamin Rivero
Rivero, 33 years old, is one of the main bats in the powerful Hustler lineup. After a miserable 2002 season marred by injuries and sub-par performance, Rivero bounced back to be a Silk Award candidate once again. The Hustlers would love to move him to first base eventually but for now, they'll move forward with him in the outfield.
Center Field: Jeff Washington
When the Hustlers made Washington a Supplemental #1 pick in 2004, they boldly proclaimed "here's your future center fielder" and compared him to Jimmy Slizz. Both have seemingly come true. He'll play solely against RHP, but Washington is off to a great start for a long term career and making the Hustlers look smart for picking him.
Right Field: Ross White
The acquisition of Ross White was critical both to the Hustlers 2003 LMS title as well as the future. His team friendly contract and production makes him one of the most valuable players in all of the MBBA.
Reserves:
Jay Burns- Effective and versatile, Burns is a solid insurance policy to have. Washington's emergence dramatically cuts Burns playing time.
Julien Petit- Veteran pure hitter signed from the European Baseball Alliance, he's expected to be a top pinch hitter as well as grab some playing time against LHP.
Jason Stucky- LEFTY KILLER.
Top Prospect:
Ben Hargrove- Hargrove, the Hustlers 2nd round pick in 2003, is getting his first taste of full season ball this year. He'll have to improve his eye a bit to be a starting prospect, but the Hustlers feel that his ability to put the ball in play makes him a young player to watch.
