Las Vegas waited until June to call up their prized batting savant, Jen-ken Zhai. Despite missing two months of the BBA season, Zhai will end up being one of the top rookies in the Johnson League. Will the voters account for the two months he was in the minors? Probably not, but that's ok.
Zhai hit the BBA with a vengeance. He was flirting with a .400 average in June before leveling off and ultimately finishing with a slash line of .310/.348/.495. In 87 games (368 at-bats), Zhai produced 24 doubles, 4 triples, 12 homers, 42 RBI and 30 steals with a total of 2.3 WAR.
Projected to 162 games: 45 doubles, 7 triples, 22 homers, 78 RBI, and 56 steals, with a 4.3 WAR. Not too shabby.
