Three Hustlers were named to the 2047 BBA All-Star Team to represent the Johnson League this year.
Kidane Ata was elected by voting as the starting center fielder for the JL. He was hitless in two at-bats in the JL loss.
The Hustlers sensational closer Bang Pi was named to the club by Calgary GM Kevin Dickson. In his one inning of work, Pi STRUCK OUT THE SIDE!
Finally, and somewhat surprisingly, shortstop Damek Korbel was named as a reserve. He got into the game and went 1-2 at the plate, scoring a run.
Despite the three, there were MANY Hustlers who could certainly make a case for being snubbed:
SP Martin Ross- leading the league in wins
RF Jim Ashford- fifth in the JL in batting average, second in hits, 3.2 WAR
LF Tom Rudge- fifth in runs scored, 3.7 WAR
Calvin Johnson, C- .302 average, +2.1 ZR. 45% RTO, 2.1 WAR
Meanwhile, Reno (AA) center fielder Lao Kum was the lone Hustlers' prospect named to the futures game. He pinch hit in the seventh inning, doubling in a run and later scoring in the JL's 10-2 romp.
