Las Vegas had just one team option to make a decision on this year. Right fielder Mark White was due to make $3.4 million if the Hustlers opted to retain him. Their decision was swift, and decisive:

The 31 year old White had an outstanding .862 OPS for the Hustlers this year, however he was once again unable to stay on the field with two significant injuries:

05/25/2045 Suffered setback in recovery from injury, will miss another 4 weeks.
08/21/2045 Injured (Biceps strain), out for 4-5 weeks.

"We realize it isn't a lot of money and we could have easily brought him back, but we need some stability in the outfield this year," said GM Matt Rectenwald. "Mark was surprisingly okay in our clubhouse mix this year, and we found that refreshing given his reputation."

Rectenwald went on to say that they "wouldn't rule out signing him in free agency for a lower salary" but that "they expect someone will pay him more".
