WHIV 2003 Vol. 2- Free Agents Lost

C Nicolas Kuffrey becomes a free-agent.
MR Bob Fife becomes a free-agent.
CF Douglas Howser becomes a free-agent.

All three of these players were lost to free agency as they weren't offered arbitration.

- Kuffrey is an excellent offensive minded catcher, though a subpar defender. The long time Hustler gets to explore free agency where he's never had a large audience. Perhaps this is the year that the MBWBA gives him some love.

- Fife was expected to shore up middle relief after being acquired from Louisville mid-season, though he disappointed. The Hustlers didn't want to give significant money to the disappointing righty.

- Howser is a nice guy to have around at a minimum salary or minor league deal. Giving him any more than that is foolish, as he's basically a defensive replacement who can't hit.

Kuffrey will make someone a nice platoon versus lefty DH. Oh wait! haha He'd made a decent platoon catcher to a bottom feeder team. Fife will get picked up by someone for sure. Howser, might want to get used to riding a bus in the minors, though he'd made a decent defensive OF pickup if someone is REAL desparate.
