GM: "The stuff of nightmares folks. I can't even process this. Swept to end the season. L'Arch gets oh so close but so far from .400. The pickle smoocher down in Mexico sneaks into the playoffs on the back of thumping us. I'm just done."
Soik: "Done? You mean you are resigning?"
GM: "Jesus can't I overreact a bit without you breathing down my neck? Are you trying to run me out of town?"
Soik: "No comment?"
Goldie: "So leaving the bitter ending aside, how do you feel about the team going forward?"
GM: "Sorry Goldie I'm not even prepared to give a thoughtful answer to that at the moment. I'm just disgusted right now. 30,000 foot view? Throughout the course of the season we injected a ton of pitching talent into the minor leagues while still achieving a winning record on the season. I guess in theory that sounds nice, but my god. I want to hurl every time I think about how close we were to so many achievements."
Goldie: "Anymore thoughts on the salary cap nonsense from before? You wanted a reminder."
GM: "I can't even process that fully yet either right now. I believe it involves collusion though. Not a word to be thrown around lightly but the only people getting hosed by the cap are actually the players. You can work the rest of that out yourself. I have a date with a big, big bottle of liquor..."
