Fajardo Hurt Again
April 9, 2038
It was the top of the sixth inning in Montreal, and veteran starting pitcher Gerardo Fajardo was heading out to the mound to continue his second start of the year. Jogging out past the first base line he felt a pop in his right knee and immediately knew there was trouble. Fajardo winced in pain and dropped to the ground, clutching his knee. The Hustlers, taking no chances, warmed up Wayne Muirhead to come in for Fajardo and quickly scurried Fajardo off to the trainers room for examination.
Fajardo has been through this before; again and again and again and again.....a seemingly never ending string of injuries. He missed all but the first game of his first year with the Hustlers but came back strong in 2037. He was poised for a big year in 2038 but once again it came crashing down with Fajardo injured. "It's a torn meniscus in his knee," announced Vegas manager Edward Allen. "He'll miss at least four months."
At least there is still hope for a late season comeback. "That's been my deal my whole career," explained Fajardo. "I'm the epitome of the word 'comeback'!"
With Fajardo down, the Hustlers turn to Alvin Chartrand for his second chance to earn a starting spot.

Re: WHIV 2038.11- Fajardo Hurt Again
If there's an issue with the injury code (IMHO), it's not the number of injuries as much as it is the fact that so many guys literally just cannot seem to stay on the field at all.
Of course, it could be that's because as OOTP GMs vs. real GMs give guys who will be hurt so many chances, whereas real GMs will just stop giving guys contracts.
