2035 Las Vegas Hustlers- Sim #8 in Review

5/19- Las Vegas Decked by Perimutter, Gamblers
Atlantic City left fielder Stanley R. Perimutter had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 10-3 win over the Las Vegas Hustlers. Javier Venegas picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 1 hit, while walking 2 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 3-0. The 4th-place Gamblers are now 18-26, the Hustlers 23-20. Perimutter had a key at-bat for Atlantic City early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and gave Atlantic City an early 2-0 lead. "We took advantage of our opportunities," Perimutter told the Atlantic City Times. "It's as simple as that." Hustlers' starting pitcher Hirotada Miura was roughed up for the first time since joining the rotation, allowing 7 runs in 5 2/3 innings of work. Brian Bender hit his 6th homer of the year with two down in the ninth inning for Las Vegas to give the home fans something to cheer about.

5/20- Crawdads Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Las Vegas
New Orleans Crawdads starter Freddy Delgado was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Las Vegas Hustlers, 6-4. Delgado got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Delgado allowed no earned runs. New Orleans has now won 3 in a row. Yancy Cravat, who leads the JL with a 1.129 OPS, chipped in for New Orleans with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI. Cravat called the triumph "a good team win." Johnny Greenwood took the loss for the Hustlers, and Tully Crow had another subpar relief outing. Lloyd Braun was a lone bright spot for the Hustlers, going 2-4 with 2 runs, 2 runs driven in, a triple and a steal.

5/21- Crawdads Prevail, 8-6, Over Las Vegas
Yancy Cravat was instrumental in his team's 8-6 triumph over the Las Vegas Hustlers. The first baseman was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the New Orleans Crawdads. New Orleans has now won 4 games in a row. The Crawdads got a big at-bat from left fielder Dean Ludlam. For the game, Ludlam was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave New Orleans a 5-4 lead. "I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ludlam. "And not try to do too much." Hyun-sik Chang gave up 5 runs (4 earned) in 5 plus innings, and Augute Balun was rocked for three more runs while only recording just one out. Mario Murillo hit his sixth homer of the year for Las Vegas.

5/22- Hustlers Trip Crawdads in Extras
Getting a good performance from catcher Hank Brewer, the Las Vegas Hustlers defeated the New Orleans Crawdads, 6-4. Brewer was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Hustlers. The Hustlers bumped their record to 24-22 with this latest triumph. The Hustlers got a big at-bat from pinch-hitter Carlos Torres in the top of the tenth, when with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Las Vegas a 6-4 lead. "Exciting game to play in," said Brewer. "Getting the win makes it even better." Jose Reyes got his first win of the year and Orlando Rivera closed it up to earn his second save of the year for the Hustlers.

5/23- DAY OFF

5/24- Hustlers Win 5-4 Walk-Off
The Las Vegas Hustlers wiggled past the Nashville Goats, 5-4, at The Casino by Moe Fugger. Las Vegas pitcher Shawn Huber earned player of the game honors, pitching FIVE perfect innings in relief with six punchouts. Las Vegas reliever Tully Crow picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Armando Figueroa took the loss. The Hustlers bumped their record to 25-22 with this latest triumph. Las Vegas won the game in the bottom of the 15th inning. With one out and Armando Figueroa on the mound for Nashville, catcher Hank Brewer hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Hustlers fans to their feet. "Winning the game is always the first objective," Huber said. There was a lot of talk on local Sports Radio after the game about Vegas manager Matthew Barnard's decision to allow their closer to pitch five innings. "What the hell was he thinking," shouted local "shock-jock" and former Hustlers Jimmy Slizz. "He's not built for that- if there's an injury on the horizon Barnard needs to be held accountable!"

5/25- Ridder Helps Hustlers Run Win Streak to 3
Benefiting from a huge game by Gervasio Ridder , the Las Vegas Hustlers downed the Nashville Goats, 20-8. Ridder was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5 for the Hustlers. Julio Velasco earned the save for Las Vegas, his 1st. Las Vegas has 3 straight wins, Nashville 3 straight losses. Hector Gomez chipped in for Las Vegas with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 5 runs batted in. "The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Matthew Barnard said. Every Hustlers' regular got a hit as their offense FINALLY came to life. Miura went five innings and gave up eight runs....and got the WIN! Las Vegas offense produced a remarkable 41 total bases!!!!
