Stinson 2nd Best?

Calgary’s Larry Stinson is currently second in the JL Sawyer Silk voting. Stinson, who won the Silk in 2043, made a strong push to take home the award again this season. Nobody started stronger than Stinson who ended April with 16 homers, 55 RBIs and a 1.363 OPS. That is right, 55 RBIs in a month. So how do we explain the injustice that Stinson is not taking home the Silk this year?

Look at these season numbers. He hit .314, with a .660 SLG and 1.038 OPS. He hit 55 home runs and 54 doubles. He had 111 extra base hits. He scored 132 runs, which was tops in the league, and he drove in 145! He had 425 total bases. Most of these numbers rank in the top 5 in Calgary’s all time history.

Stinson is going to again win the Puckett Award at 1B. This is the 8th time he has taken this award home. He is going to win his first ever Zimmer Award for fielding at 1B. The list goes on and on. Stinson had a career season and yet he is in 2nd place for the Sawyer Silk. What is wrong with these voters.

So who could possibly be getting more votes than Stinson? Oh yeah that other Calgary guy. So the Pioneers are 1st and 2nd in the Silk. A Pioneer is currently leading the Gillstrom voting, with another in 5th. Two Pucketts, a Zimmer, etc, All of this and they did NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFF!

Man their GM must suck!

Wonder what is the biggest gap between Silk awards.
