L’Arch Leads League in Hitting

In his first season with Calgary, Girolamo L'Archibudelli is turning out to be everything the team wanted when they traded for him. L’Arch is currently leading the JL hitting .348. Calgary needed a consistent leadoff hitter and L’Arch has cemented himself into the job.

“I am really happy with how he is doing,” Calgary manager Terry Cochran said. “I just wish the guys behind him would drive him in more.”

While he leads the lead in hitting and is 3rd in OBA, he is only 5th in runs scored. The team has solid hitters behind them, but they just aren’t producing. Larry Stinson is having a terrible year. An interesting fact about L’Arch is that he is the only Pioneer with more walks than strikeouts.

“I really hope L’Arch gets picked for the All Star team. He is the most deserving guy on the team,” said Calgary GM Kevin Dickson. “When we got him and then added Backhouse, some folks wondering whether we had 2 DH’s. Well L’Arch has done just fine out in LF.”
