Calgary Brings Back Cristobal

Cristobal Hernandez, the winningest pitcher in Calgary history has been hired to replace Esteban Ortiz as the new pitching coach at A ball Quebec. Ortiz was promoted to manage AA Duluth. Hernandez retired after the 2042 season and is starting his coaching career at the young age of 37.

“We hope that this is beginning of a continuing long relationship between Cristobal and the team,” said GM Kevin Dickson. “One of the toughest decisions I ever made was to let him go after the 2041 season and I am thrilled to welcome him back.”

Hernandez is the all time leader in Calgary with 154 wins, 2155 strikeouts, 376 starts and 2459 innings pitched. A 4 time All Star and Zimmer winner, Hernandez never won a Nebraska Award although his finished in the top 3 twice. He missed most of the 2039 season with injuries and his career was cut short after he injured his arm again in 2041 resulting in his release after the season. He pitched 12 games for Charlotte in 2041, but didn’t earn any wins.

“I am glad to be back in Canada, it’s a lot different than the Dominican, but it was my home for several years,” Hernandez said. “Hopefully I can help develop some of these kids so they can get their shot at the BBA too.”

Don’t know how I missed him last year, didn’t see that he had retired.
