Mao Wins Puckett Award
Chairman Mao has won the JL Charles Puckett Golden Bat Award at 1B. This is the second time that Mao has won a Puckett, the previous was in 2039 when he won the Puckett in the FL. It looks like Mao is also going to finish in 6th place in the JL Sawyer Silk voting.
Mao led the Pioneers in the following categories:
Batting Average .326
On-Base Pct .408
Slugging Pct .650
OPS 1.058
Runs 124
RBIs 145
He set personal highs in these categories and also set a personal high with 189 hits and 50 home runs. Mao was selected to his 2nd All Star team this year as well.
His season ranks as one of the best in Calgary history. His .408 SLG is 2nd all time as is his 1.058 OPS. His .408 OBA and his 124 runs rank 5th. His 145 RBI’s are 3rd in team history and he is the 6th Pioneer to hit 50 home runs. Mao was hit by pitches 26 times to lead the team and rank 4th in team history, only behind the human target Mario Soriano.
