New Orleans wasnt counting on a deep run in the playoffs. They had been expecting 2013 to be a special season. But with Marquette faltering this season, New Orleans was able to hold off Birmingham with relative ease and squeeze into the playoffs with an not-too-impressive 87-75 record.
Of course, as all in the MBBA know, getting to the playoffs isnt the goal. Winning the whole thing is. But you have to be in it to win it. And once you are in it, it only takes a couple players to play lights out to further your hopes at the ultimate title.
Jimmy McCabeturned out to be that guy. 4-0 in the postseason, including 3 dominating wins over Long Beach. 1.95 ERA. 1.03 WHIP. And 32 strikeouts in 37 innings of work.
McCabe is exhausted, tired, but he will be the first to point out that he wont hold anything back against the Madison Wolves "I'm beat" he says "but I have all offseason to recover"
New Orleans is hopeful that McCabe and the rest of the Crawdads can bring home the teams first Landis title since 1988.

Well your regular season record was 5 wins better than the 73 Mets.
McCabe definitely Mr Clutch in this postseason. Great story.
