As everyone knows, New Orleans is very proud of their farm system. One unfortunate down side to having a robust farm system is that you lose players in the Rule 5 draft that are unable to win a spot on the clubs 40 man roster.
In 2012, New Orleans had 4 players drafted. Here is a rundown of how they fared in the 2012 season
MR Chris Chown - Selected by Washington, went 3-3 with a 6.04 ERA
2B Gavin Shill selected by Omaha went .170 in 94 ABs
SS Greg Andersonwas drafted by Buffalo, but returend to New Orleans in April. Strangley enough Anderson had the most success, hitting .279 in 43 ABs for Buffalo.
1B Ghislain Alighieri was drafted by Marquette and hit .189 in just 37 ABs
