The New Orleans Crawdads fans were in for a surprise on Opening Day. In a shock to almost everyone, 3B Tom Guenette came out on opening day. It was a stunt that everyone would very quickly like to forget.
The first batter got a single. Then a walk. Then a Double play and a fly-out to end the inning. One inning down. No Runs. One hit.
The second inning, Teddy Bullock took him deep for a solo home run.
Then the third inning. 3 runs on 3 hits.
And the 4th, Denes Terovolas took him deep. VERY deep. 452 foot home run.
All in all, everyone seems to agree Tommy Boy should stick to Third Base and teh occasional mop up role. He allowed 5 runs, 4 walks, and 6 hits (2 HR) in just 3.2 innings. He also threw 76 pitches.
New Orleans is now 0-6 on the season. This year, the Big Easy looks Big Hard.
