Crawdad Chronicles 58.07 - Crawdads add Yancy Cravat to Wall of Fame

Today the New Orleans Crawdads announced that they would be added 1B Yancy Cravat to their wall of fame, the first introduction in the last 6 years.

Cravat is an interesting case. Originally a rare left handed third basement - once the crawdads got smart and moved him to first base - he immediately excelled. Power and Defense was his game. His time in the BBA was cut short -but it would have been interesting to see where he ended up had he played another 7-10 seasons in the BBA.

Cravat won 6 consecutive Gold Goves (and a 7th a year later). He hit 342 HRs in 7 seasons, leading the BBA three times. Somehow, despite the glove and the bat, he only made one All Star game. All in all, by the time he was 30, he had 400 BBA home runs. But thats all he would ever get.

In 2043, the GBA snapped him up - and he left the US to go play for Athens - where he cranked out another 100 HRs in the next 2 years. But after a few injuries in 2045 he hung up the cleats for good. Had he been able to continue his pace for 3 more seasons, its highly likely he would be a top 10 all time power hitter. But alas - he is not.

But stil, the Crawdads remember him fondly - even if his only world series ring came in 2042 - the worst season of his career - in his sole BBA season outside of New Orleans - with Loserville.

The crawdads will welcome him back as they put his name on the Wall of Fame! Congrats Yancy!
