Crawdad Chronicles 56.01 - Crawdads bounced in 4

Post by JimBob2232 » Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:53 am

The new orleans crawdads, fresh off their first winning season in their last 4 years - were bounced from the playoffs after losing 3 straight games to the upstart Boise Spuds.

After taking the first game 7-5, the crawdads sputtered. In game 2, somehow they let it slip away. New Orleans out-hit the Spuds 11-6, but unfortunatly 3 of those 6 hits were back-to-back-to-back in the top of the second inning, culminating in a 2 run HR By Boise's Gary Allen to put the Potato mashers up 3-0. The crawdads never recovered.

The middle of New Orleans lineup sputtered. Borges hit just .188 in teh series and Luis Estrada even worse with just one singluar hit in the 4 game series in the cleanup spot,

The crawdads now look to next year. Just making the playoffs is NEVER the goal in the big easy.

Successful year overall I'd say. What a reverse from last year!

I hate it when star players shit the bed in the playoffs. Nice job getting back Ito the playoffs.

Ya - lack of injuries was really a huge headwind this year. My depth was not good - but my aging starters stayed healthy. Unlike last year which was a mash unit all year.
