For the 2nd consecutive year, the New Orleans crawdads have finished below .500.
This is unacceptable for the Ownership. GM Jim Roberts promised changes. Whether that means long-time manager Frank Thomas the III will be back remains teh biggest question in town.
Although Roberts owns some of the blame himself. We signed a lot of player to NTC's. We didnt realize the imact at the time, but it really hampered our ability to make trades. In fact, the last trade we actually made was over a full (real life) calendar year ago when we traded Edgardo Encarnación.
Now that some of those key players are hitting free agency, we should be able to get back to wheeling and dealing. GM Jim Roberts noted that he likes to be active on the trade market - but just couldnt be.
Thats hampered New Orleans in the long run as they have lost their usual dominance in the minor league realm as well.
We have to get back to what New Orleans has been historically. And that starts with me roberts said. Who else he will hold accountable remains to be seen.
