New oleans re-signed manger frank thomas III earlier in the season. With the way the season went - perhaps they wish they hadnt. Either way, its unlikely they will be able to dump him now after signing him to a 5 year 9M extension.

Thomas won the Landsis in 2053 and had made the playoffs dating back every year to 2040 with Rockville. 2053 was hard for him. There was a lot of extra stuff happpening - No Trade Clauses, Injuries, Bullpen drama. Lots of things that are out of the ordinary - but GM Jim Robers is a tough man to please.

Roberts said - our expectation is to make the playoffs every year. You have to be in it to win it. Not making the playoffs is inexcuseable. We put a good team on the field - they have to go out and win at least 90 games and get in the playoffs. Failure to do so will have repercusions.

2054 is going to be hard to bounce back. Some key large salaryplayers have NTCs. The cap is constraining. And unlike usual, New Orleans Farm system has suffered in recent years.

GM Jim Roberts noted - we have to get back to being New Orleans. Thats gotten away from us a bit here the last couple years. We have to hit it hard and perhaps do a real rebuild. BUt we cant do that without moving some salary. Going to be tough - but we;ll figure it out.
