CL Renato Lacerda set a record. In 2052 he notched 53 saves - which is #2 all time in a signle season, and an all time high in new orleans. The only player ever in BBA history to get more saves in a signle season was Skip Glendering in 2027 with the California Crusaders.

In New Orlens He bested Flint colbert who had 51 in 2027 and Freddy Delgado in 2030. Lacerda also owns #3 and #4 on that list with 51 in 2041 and 49 in 2044.

Lacerda now moves into 2nd place all time in New Orleans with 381 saves, second only to hall of Famer (and controversial favorite) Gunga Oogolagunga with a fitting 420 saves on the books in the big easy. He is also 15th all time in saves in the BBA.

Lacerda is a now free agent. The 5 time all star pitched a leaggue leading 70 games in 2052 and led the league in saves for the 7th time in his career.

It will be interestng to see his market value this offseason. For sure, new orleans would welcome him back for one more hurrah.
