Crawdad Chronicles 51.02 - Billy Kelly as a Starter

Billy F'ing Kelly.

For 3 years he was the ace closer in New Orleans. In 2050 he had 41 saves and a 1.73 ERA. 91 saves over his first 3 seasons. He looked locked into a closer role.

But 2051 changed things. When Christian Burgos went down in the season opener, GM Jim Roberts decided to try Kelly in a starting pitching role. He did not disapoint. The former first rounder in the 2046 draft went 15-11 with a 3.52 ERA, a lead leading 182 strikeouts. He is likely to finish #2 in the nebraska voting behind fellow 'Dad Christian Garcia.

With that performance, it will be hard for New Orleans to put him back in the pen. Burgos/Garcia/Kelly should make a dominant trio again in 2052.
