Crawdad Chronicles 50.01 Crawdads begin talks with Fountain

Now that the season has coem to an end, the New Orleans Crawdads will open negotations with 3B Mal Fountain.

Fountain ,a first round pick in 2039 - has been the new orleasn 3B for the last 7 years. In that time, he has hit .269 with 189 HR and 27.3 WAR - including a career high 5.4 WAR this season.

He would gain new orleans a comp pick if he was not resigned. Howver, the crawdads are looking to lock up the 29 year old for the next few seasons.

He is asking for 4 years 65M. Which might be a bit steep. GM Jim Roberts will be looking to see if maybe they make him a primary target on the free agent trail - if he should happen to hit it.
