Crawdad Chronicles 49.01 - Donestavez Expected to win 2nd Silk Award

Juan Donestavez is well on his way to winning his second career Sawyer Silk award (the other in 2047)

Donestavez is one of the top players that came out of BBA's best ever 2038 draft. Although he was drafted 15th in that round - he has not regressed - as many expected, but has blossomed and improved along the way.

In 2049 he hit .331/.393/.612 with 42 HR and 112 R'sBI. In addition he swiped a career high 69 bases and 9.2 WAR. He joined the 40/40 club for the first time in his 8 year career. He hit .421 this post season, and was the Gehogan Round MVP - lifting the crawdads to the Cartwright series where they lost to Las Vegas.

But off the field, Donestavez also found great success. This sumer he signed a 6 year/$104M contract to stay with the crawdads through 2055. Time will have to tell if he can maintain his dominance through his mid 30's - but its risk New Orleans needed to take.
