Crawdad Chronicles 48.02 - Garcia signed to long term deal

In a deal that GM Jim Roberts will surely come to regret - the Crawdads have signed SP Christian Garcia to a 6 year 79M contract extension taht will keep him with the club through his 34th birthday.

Garcia - in his 8 years with teh Crawdads is 106-44 with a 3.77 ERA. He is a 4 time all star, and once one a Yogi at Pitcher.

"He has been great" GM Jim Roberts noted. "He has been a staple in our bullpen - and this past season - we needed to rely on him more than ever as most of our staff (including Christian) spent significant time on the DL"

If he holds up for the next 6 years, Garcia could be one of the best careers in the franchises history. Thats probably a pipe-dream though, but GM Jim Roberts had some cash and knew he had to send it or risk letting Garcia leave in Free Angency.
